Bishop’s Stortford Futsal Club demonstrated its continued growth by entering four teams in the Youth Futsal League for the first time.
The club sent under-eight and under-13 squads as well as two under-15 sides to the tournament, which took place in Rickmansworth across February and March.
And all four teams finished either first or second in their leagues to qualify for the competitions finals in May.
Head coach Matt Geddes, who has expanded the club’s number of teams and introduced new sessions to cater for a broader age range, said: “This achievement underscores our commitment to developing young talent and fostering a passion for futsal in the community.
“With the upcoming finals in May, the club looks forward to continuing its success and inspiring the next generation of futsal players.”
Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced five-a-side football game that is played indoors with 20-minute halves. The balls are three times heavier than normal footballs and the goals are similar to hockey goals.
