The Brazilian national team became the Futsal World Champions for the sixth time, defeating Argentina 2-1 in the final match. This is reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
The score was opened in the sixth minute of the match. Carlos Wagner Goularte Filho, also known as Ferrao, scored the first goal for the Argentines. Shortly after, Rafael dos Santos sealed the national team’s success.
After that, the Brazilians went on the defensive, while the opponent, on the contrary, increased the pressure. In the end, thanks to long and medium shots, combinations and quick counterattacks, the Argentine team reduced the deficit, despite the skill of Brazilian goalkeeper Willian Dorn. However, this goal by Matias Rosa, scored towards the end of the match, could not influence the outcome of the game.
It should be noted that the last time the Brazilian national team reached the final was in 2012. In five of the ten world tournaments the team scored the most goals.
Futsal is an indoor team game with rules similar to football. The 2024 World Cup was held in Tashkent from 14 September to 6 October.
