Further Education: Futsal Festival & Opportunities for Aspiring Athletes
Cardiff City FC Community Foundation’s Further Education programme travelled to England with the Women’s Team participating in a Girls Futsal Festival at Hayworth College.
Futsal, a small-sided version of football, focuses on technical skills and quick decision-making under pressure – ideal for players looking to refine their abilities.
With three modern Futsal courts, students at Cardiff City FC’s Further Education programme represent the club in the Association of Colleges Futsal League, competing weekly against teams from Premier League and English Football League clubs. The programme combines practical learning with theoretical study, providing a well-rounded education for aspiring footballers.

For those interested in competing in Futsal while they learn, Cardiff City FC Community Foundation is hosting an Open Evening on Thursday 20th February 2025 at Cardiff City House of Sport.
The event will showcase the NCFE and BTEC Sport courses on offer, giving prospective students a chance to learn more about how they can combine their passion for football with academic and career development.
