Calvary Christian College once again hosted its annual Interhigh Six-a-Side Futsal Soccer Tournament, marking the third year of the event.
This year’s tournament saw enthusiastic participation from several schools and clubs, including The Hill High School, Sir John Adamson, Forest Hill High School, Mondeor Baptist Church Football Club, Rustenburg Educational College, and Die Fakkel High School.
Spectators were treated to an energetic atmosphere throughout the day, with music and lively performances from the Calvary cheerleaders during match breaks.
Last year’s final saw Die Fakkel defeat Forest Hill 2-0. This year, they returned even stronger, reaching the final again – this time facing Rustenburg Educational College.
The final match did not disappoint, with both teams displaying skill and determination. Die Fakkel secured a 3-1 win, earning back-to-back titles.

The tournament featured fast-paced, high-quality futsal, with spectacular goals and impressive saves from the goalkeepers. Unlike traditional football, futsal restarts play by placing the ball on the line, not using throw-ins.
The event was a success, showcasing young talent and promoting sportsmanship across schools.
Willem Barkhuizen, principal of Calvary Christian College, said: “The Futsal Soccer Tournament was a resounding success, with spectators treated to some fiercely contested matches. Well done to Die Fakkel on their back-to-back wins. We look forward to the 2026 tournament.”
