KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 4
Lalitpur-based youth group Jhamel Rocks is set to organize its fourth Dashain Cup Futsal tournament on Saturday.
The event, held annually to celebrate the Badadashain festival, aims to foster unity among young people and raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and other social issues.
The tournament will kick off at 8 a.m. at the Field futsal ground at Sanepa and will follow a knockout format, featuring 25 teams. The tournament has been funded by Lalitpur Metropolitan City’s Ward No. 2 Office.
Cash prizes will be given to the top teams, with the winning team set to receive Rs100,000, while the runner-up will be awarded RS 50,000. Additionally, the tournament will recognize standout players, with the Best Player and Best Goalkeeper each receiving Rs 5,555.
The event will be inaugurated jointly by Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary and Lalitpur Metropolitan City-2 ward chairperson Rajesh Kumar Maharjan.
