The Palau Blaugrana is set for an exciting few weeks with the play offs coming up for the league titles in basketball, futsal and roller hockey. After the league triumphs for the men’s football first team, the women’s football first team and the handball team, three more of Barça’s professional outfits will be vying for domestic success.
For that to be the case, the blaugrana teams will need all the support they can get from the Palau Blaugrana.
Unicaja rivals for the Barça basketball team
The Barça basketball team coached by Joan Peñarroya are one of the eight teams through to the ACB league play offs. With fifth place assured despite one game of the regular season remaining, the blaugranes will face Unicaja over three games in the quarter-final play off.
The first meeting comes Tuesday 3 June at 9.15pm CEST in Málaga and the second at the Palau Blaugrana on Friday 6 June at 7pm CEST.
A third game, if necessary will come on Sunday 8 June in Málaga. Should Barça make it to the semi-finals they will face either Real Madrid or Baskonia.
Futsal team to take on Jaén
The futsal team coached by Tino Pérez are also involved in the quarter-final play offs for the league title. The first game against opponents Jaén comes on Thursday at the Palau Blaugrana, kick off at 8.30pm CEST. The occasion will also serve to pay tribute to two departing Barça legends: Dyego and Sergio Lozano.
The second game of the three game tie will come in Jaén on Sunday 1 June at 6.30pm CEST and a third, if necessary, at the Palau Blaugrana on Wednesday 4 June at 8.30pm CEST.
If Tino Pérez’s team make it through then they will face either Palma Futsal or Xota in the semi-finals with the blaugranes needing to claim the league title to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Roller hockey semi-finals
David Cáceres’ roller hockey team are already through to the semi-finals of the league play off after their win over PAS Alcoi in the previous round. In the last four they will face either Calafell with the first game coming on Friday 30 May at 8.30pm CEST and the second on Sunday 1 June at 12.00pm CEST. Both games are at home in the Pala Blaugrana.
