Portland Public Schools teachers have voted to authorize a strike, and the strike began Wednesday.
For Portland parents, that means scrambling to figure out where kids can go and eat during the day. Free grab-and-go meals will be available through Portland Public Schools for kids 1 to 18. For more information on where and when to get those lunches, visit pps.net/Page/21475.

Urban League of Portland
The Urban League of Portland is offering academic support, lunch and snacks for students of DaVinci, Faubion, Ockley Green, Tubman and Roseway Heights during the strike at Blazer’s Boys and Girls Club.

NW Dance Project will offer dance classes and activities for kids ages 6 to 8 during the strike.

Rose City Futsal
Rose City Futsal East is offering a strike camp for kids ages 6 to 12 of all soccer levels and abilities.

Gilchrist Art Camp
This arts organization in Beaverton is offering arts camps on days that Portland teachers are on strike for kids ages 5 to 12.

Stronger Skatepark
This skatepark is offering camps for kids ages 6 to 13 if Portland teachers strike based on camp teacher availability.

Southwest Martial Arts
This martial arts school is offering half and full day camps during a potential strike.

Portland Metro Arts
Portland Metro Arts is offering day camps with arts lessons and academic time.

Scrap PDX
Scrap will hold arts and creative reuse camps on some days of a possible strike, for kids ages 7 to 12.

Portland Reign
Portland Reign will offer a competitive basketball camp during a potential strike for kids from 2nd to 8th grade.

Dance with Joy Studios
Dance with Joy Studios, an arts organization in Sellwood, is offering camps on days Portland teachers strike for kids 4 to 12.

Oregon Children’s Theatre
Oregon Children’s Theatre will be offering “arts-integrated learning support” during a strike at Multnomah Arts Center for kids 5 to 12.
Cost is not yet available but more information will be on octc.org when it is.
Vibe of Portland
The waitlist for the camp arts organization Vibe of Portland is offering for kids during the strike is full but you can email to get on the waitlist for the waitlist.

Northeast Community Center
This community center on Broadway will offer drop-in open gym and is planning to add additional open swim times during the day for kids.

Centrl Office
This local co-working space will allow parents to bring kids out of school because of the strike to come in with parents. Parents must stay with their kids at all times but some snacks and activities are available.

Blanchet House
Kids can help the community during their time off from school, either by making sack lunches or care kits or, for kids 14 and up, by serving meals at Blanchet House.

Laughing Planet
Laughing Planet offers free meals to all kids who qualify for meal assistance and no proof of qualifications is required.
